Monitor Your Fluids

Summer heat can cause the many fluids your motorcycle relies upon to evaporate more quickly than usual. Make a habit of regularly checking the condition of your brake fluid, engine oil, fuel, and other liquids. If you are low on any of these fluids, be sure to top them off.

You should be particularly careful about keeping your motorcycle’s coolant levels topped off during the summer since coolant’s job is to help your bike deal with the heat. Remember that low-quality or incompatible coolant is usually less effective at dealing with heat even if it is cheaper. Always use high-quality, manufacturer-approved coolant in your motorcycle.

Monitor Heat-Sensitive Parts

Parts of your motorcycle that are made of plastic can melt under extreme heat, while rubber parts may start to crack and split. The best way to avoid this kind of damage is to always park in the shade when possible and take breaks during long rides so that your bike can cool off a bit.

Utilize Wax or Polish

A coating of wax can help protect your motorcycle from the sun’s rays. Certain products are even formulated specifically to block out UV rays, so shop around until you find a wax that works for you.
