Fees
There is a $199 service fee added to every vehicle purchase in 2024. As of 2/1/25, this Services Fee will increase to $299 on every vehicle purchase. This covers the cost of the deal packet, forms, supplies, training, disposals, technology and correspondence, acquisition fees, test ride, and the use of programs to place liens, check schematics and look up vehicle history. A complete list is available. This is offered at a discounted rate of $299 to all customers.
Freight and Prep fees vary and will be added to new Arctic Cat purchases.
A 3% credit card/convenience fee will be added to all purchases, or down payments, made with a credit card.
Out of state vehicle purchases
We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel an offer to purchase if the buyer's state of residence will not accept the legal documentation or current vehicle title. Please consult your sales person and your state government when purchasing an "out-of-state vehicle" or call your motor vehicle department for clarification. Ask your sales person to verify this information prior to completing your purchase.
The buyer's state of residence may have specific requirements that must be considered prior to completing a retail purchase and transfer of title. Road Track and Trail reserves the right to refund, assess fees, change delivery, update the contract/bill of sale or cancel an offer to purchase when the buyer’s state of residence requires documents or inspections that are not available, or required by law, in the state of Wisconsin or any state included in the transfer/sale of the vehicle in question. Example: The buyer may be asked to switch vehicles or pay a title service fee if the state of residence requires updated or additional documentation that we cannot provide by law. The state of Wisconsin does not require dealer VIN inspections or dealer titles and Road Track and Trail may not be able to satisfy the requirements of your state if they interfere with the laws of any state that participated in the transfer of the vehicle prior to the retail sale to the buyer.
Road Track and Trail is a pre-owned powersport dealership. We do not have the ability to acquire certificates of origin. We are not allowed to obtain a Wisconsin dealer title in most situations per Chapter 342.16(1)(c) of the Wisconsin Legislature. In the event of a lost title, the prior owner(s) will be contacted to help us retrieve a title. If the out-of-state buyer loses the title that was provided to them, a duplicate title fee will be assessed and retrieval time or availability will be considered at that time. Please keep the title and documents related to your purchase in a safe place until you can apply for title and plates at your local DMV. At this time you will pay your state/local taxes and a title and license plate fee (if not pre-paid). Duplicate title retrieval, if available, can take up to six months.
You are legally obligated to transfer your vehicle title, obtain license plates and remit taxes within 30 days of purchase in most states. Please consult your state motor vehicle department for information regarding an out-of-state vehicle purchase. A 30-day temporary plate may be provided to you. Please transfer the title to your state of residence within 30 days to avoid fees. If you wait to transfer your title beyond 90 days, Road Track and Trail might not be able to assist you in retrieving a duplicate in the event of loss.
Off-Road purchases
The state of Wisconsin only accepts title applications to vehicles deemed for travel on Wisconsin roadways. Snowmobile, ATV/UTV and off-road dirt bike will be issued registration cards from Wisconsin DNR or out of state agency unless Road Track and Trail was given a title from the prior owner (seller state of residence outside of Wisconsin). Wisconsin titles are not issued for off-road vehicles. Please ask in advance about out of state title requirements by state. A certificate of origin will only be provided for the purchase of a new Arctic Cat.
Off-road purchases made by out of state residents will be charged 5% Wisconsin state tax, per WI tax bulletin 184 (4/2014). The sale of snowmobiles, ATV/UTV, dirt bike or trailer will include Wisconsin state tax when the buyer takes possession in Wisconsin, regardless of the state of residence/registration. This applies to vehicles delivered by our trucks, vehicles picked up and vehicles trailered by the owner, friend or family. If the vehicle is shipped by a common carrier shipper, such as Daily Direct, Shiply, Uship or Motorcycle shippers, vehicles will not be charged tax as long as a bill of lading is provided. Please consult your sales person for additional information.
Shipping*
We use a third party shipper. Shipping in the continental United States starts at $650 to select cities. Please inquire as to the cost and delivery area of your current address. You may not be able to have your vehicle delivered to a subsequent address without proof of residency. Shipping orders are placed once compliance requirements are collected and the vehicle is paid in full. Time in transit may vary by delivery location, force majeure, inclement weather, pandemic, or any other instance beyond the shipper's control. Only a delivery estimate will be given; we cannot guarantee a date or time of delivery.
